Two prisoners, including 22-year-old Afsaneh Zandabadi, were executed in Iran's Tabriz and Gorgan prisons. According to the Iran Human Rights, Zandabadi had been sentenced to death on drug-related charges, while 54-year-old Saber Akrami was convicted of murder.

Political prisoner Mohammad Asadi, held in Sheiban Prison in Ahvaz, has been sentenced to two years in prison by the Khuzestan Court of Appeals on charges of “disrupting public order.” The court removed supplementary penalties imposed in the initial ruling.
