Iran’s Supreme Court has upheld the death sentence of Arman Marefati, 38, arrested during the January 2026 protests. Two co-defendants in his case were executed in June 2026. He remains imprisoned at Ghezel Hesar Prison in Karaj.

Elias Ghanavati Lari, a writer and poet from Mahshahr, was arrested by security forces on October 21, 2026. Twelve days later, his whereabouts and condition remain unknown, according to the Iranian Writers’ Association.
