Matin Rasouli, a resident of Piranshahr, was arrested by security forces on August 16 without a judicial warrant and taken to an undisclosed location. He has reportedly been denied access to a lawyer and contact with his family.

Sixteen residents of Mahabad have been sentenced to a combined 77 years and 7 months in prison by the Revolutionary Court on charges including “assembly and collusion against national security� and “propaganda against the regime.�

Mohammad Ali Pazireh and Hassan Kordi were executed yesterday at Adelabad Prison in Shiraz. They had been sentenced to death in separate cases involving murder and non-political offenses. The executions have not been officially announced.
